I did a very brief research and it appears the “facelift” cars which are after 96? Use a chip on the blade key that has to talk to the EIS. These are what are apparently unobtainium from MB. I don’t know if there are any aftermarket solutions. Got me thinking too if you could get a blade key

I've been listening to some vintage computer podcasts that have talked about the issues trying to use a modem over today's VOIP phones. Apparently the compression used today prevents modem use. There is a theory that 300 baud would be slow enough that it's still work... Curt Sent from Yahoo
