Hi Jim -
The GP light came on once or twice in a 40 minute drive - it stayed on for
maybe 20 seconds each time. It seems to do it whether hot or cold.
Still sound like the relay?

Hi Jim -
When I had a different problem once before (turned out to be the relay) I
tested each wire going to the GPs and used a DMM to test each lead to the
GPs - but the engine was not running. That time the Relay had died after a
week. MB gave me a new one.
I'll find that procedure short
Mobil One makes a oil specific for diesels - 15W40 IIRC - with the sub title
of "Diesel and Turbo" approved or something similar.
But Donald doesn't have a Diesel - it's a E320 I believe. If it were my
car I'd use M1 15W50 year round...
But that's me.

Great, just great... Well, I guess ordering new GPs would be premature -
The GP relay is not very old - which means little - replaced this one at
119K (~65K mi) after receiving a bad one from MB - they gave me a
replacement. Well, I check it out before - guess I can do it again.

Hi All -
Saturday I replaced the DV components again and put the old springs back in
with new o-rings & washers -
After putting things back together and starting it I noticed the noise level
had reduced. That seems to confirm Marshalls comment about *any* change in
fuel delivery will affect
n the oil so any present can be detected
during the lab work. So the analysis would not be very helpful.
**BTW - I have the 94 E320 Owners Manual in pdf form if you'd like a
copy?**
