That steering wheel belongs in a earlier model, also the headlights should be the 280E style ones but I could be wrong and very early 83's still came out had the round ones (poor lighting). Also I doubt wether the bottom end is the cause of the noise unless severly overheted or run with low/no oil. Timing chain and valves are a problem in those motors but the bottom end is pretty well build. Hendrik with an 84 auto which I am planning on manualising - Original Message - From: Kaleb C. Sounds like you got a good price on the glass, the two places I called wanted $279 $250. (PPG glass) The one place said they can reuse the molding and the other place would like to order new molding just in case. I'll make sure and bring it to their attention when I finalize on the installer Roger We put a PPG windshield in our 1987 300SDL when we had it and it worked out okay. I've put on 2 applications of the Leatherique product of the oil rejuvenator the pristine clean. I was hardly impressed. For all the work it took, it sure did remove a lot of the leather dye from my seats and left a dull finish. Still card board hard in the 87 SDL. Roger Forget the Eagle One for the upholstery. However, it might also be done with two short pieces of pipe with plates welded on the end. The middle can be fashioned with a 18 piece of all thread and two nuts.
