I save old brake fluid to use as penetrating oil. An old timer set me wise. If
that doesn't work and I can't use heat, out comes the chisel and BFH.

Electric drivetrains are more efficient. That's why hybrids get
better mileage even though they have a quarter-ton-plus more
equipment. Also why diesel trains run generators and use electric
motors.
I doubt that. I believe that Diesel/Electric trains allow a much smoother

Yup, thay alll had Chebby small blocks, I suspect turbo350s Tranny.
Great Avanti's had a Study V8 and what I can best describe as a wicked exhaust
note. There was one in our Mustang Club, about 1967. We autocrossed a lot.
Everyone stopped and paid attention when he made a pass.

Spoken like a youngster ;-0
Pre war Studes were amongst the best cars built. Tha Avanti had class that the
M/B crowd would drool for. With the Paxton Blower it would clean the clock on
any Benz, after it passes a Corvette.
I have a good frind who still has a Golden Hawk the is very stout fo a
BTDT with the fraudulent bookkeeper. They usually are 1st timewrs, cop a plea
and get about 30 years for restitution. In the meantime, your screwed.

I'm not sure, my old memory simply says you could get a Chebby PowerPac engine
and a 4 speed. I've seen them, cute and I'd imagine fun to drive.
Yes, even the much older Study 6's had the reputaion of being very tuff.

My G'pa had a Studebaker, wonder if they were made by the same company. I do
lust after a 1965 Daytona Convertible w/327 & 4 speed. Not too many survived.

Donald, take a med.
Based on your rationalization we should all be able to buy a 15 year old
anything and revert back to the manufacturer for any defect.
How much do you think "Cradle to Grave" product responsibility would add to the
cost of a car?

justify the increased cost and maintainance of a diesel. Very few manufactures

On 'merican car, slop in the driver's door appears at about 100Kmi. ON my Benz,
at 300Kmi, the door was getting better. I understand that is because the hinge
pins are tapered so the wear to a better fit.

I stand corrected, when we crush tested samples we always referred to the load
as "tensiles", when you order it, then supplier will ask you what tensile you
want. Common work uses 3,500 psi.
