While back, I bought a 300SD at an auction. The car needs a minimum
maintenance.
When I first took it to the tire/alignment shop, the owner of the shop
mentioned
to me that the transmission was slipping in 1st gear. hummn!
I am trying to make sense of this before I get into it. The

Thank you for your insights. I appreciate it. I think that in conjunction with
every other manual and figuring out how things work is probably a good bet.

I have been using Neatsfoot oil, getting it from FarmFleet in fact. But, after
reading more about it, including in the maintenance of riding leather boots. it
appears that most formulas of Neatsfoot oil contain thinning agents like
kerosene. That's disappointing.

Hello there, I have been using Avast for some time now. It was
recommended from a friend who is pretty knowledgeable about computer. It is
certainly not draining one's computer resources like McAfee.

Hello there,
The heat appears to be quite irregular on any one trip, say. At first, the
output is fine, cozy and then it gets cold for awhile, sometimes too long I'd
say. If I turn on the fan to compensate, (1) the defrost just puts out too much
heat fairly quickly and it gets kind of

Well, I did appreciate your effort when trying to answer to my panic attack
about the lost key of the 1981 300SD I purchased for my son. Even thought the
key was not lost but simply missing as Rusty wrote, I made a mistake by
buying the car at an auction in the first place. I have bought at
reasonable,
changing it is extremely simple and easy, and you'll know that you have a
key for the ignition and may have a new one for the doors, too.

Buy a new tumbler too. It comes with a key. Then you would have 2 keys that
operated the ignition, glove box, trunk doors.

The metal part of the key was probably in the most logical place, somewhere
in the lazy boy where he sat visiting one of his buddy. Thanks again. --PT

Hello,
Has anyone replaced coil springs once? I am trying to see if I could do it
myself on a 300D, 1981. Not too long ago, I replaced the shocks with Bilstein's
but it won't do it, the car is still too much like a boat, especially on the
interstate.
Thank you.

Thank you for your help. Much appreciated.
Springs only sag, they don't change rate all that much. A wallowy ride
is more likely to be bad (or missing) rear sway bar links, bad
bushings, or bad from control arm parts.
I think, and a friend mentioned it, the car appears low in the back. Yes the
Hello there,
From reading the latest post this morning, I thought I'd post the link I came
