I have been using only wood for heating for 35 years. We now have a
"Regency". I cut 3 cords of alder/maple a year off our place in the fall so
I'm always a season "ahead". I've fabracated a propane "log lighter" in
the stove which eliminates the need for kindling or wadded up paper. I use

A smeller thing happened when I installed the wrong throw out bearing, but
nobody has worked on yours I assume. What I would do is bleed the system
using the r/f brake slave to push brake fluid up through the system.

use the wood block, since Harbor Freight has a nifty little
rubber-faced jack pad, which helps to avoid marring any sensitive
jack-point surfaces.

Thats the way I did it, just cranked it over with the starter. Adaptor
plate & fly wheel must be on the engine. Your numbers wont be as accurate
as with a warm engine but thats not an option for you with the engine
sitting on the garage floor. You just dont want to see a big spread in the

I read allot about return lines going bad and air leaking into the fuel
system from various places on the older 12 valve CTDs. Wouldn't it be a
useful tool for finding those leaks? I wasn't thinking of dash mounted
gauge, got enough too look at now :-)
Thanks

Do you guys know if that $57 one from from CJW would do me any good on my
12 valve Cummins?? Thats the puppy I read about, needing a test gauge for,
so it might be a good idea to have one. Thanks

Heres a "sea story" about what can happen when fuel is forced through a
small hole at high pressure.

This is a fairly easy job, made even easier if you have an impact wrench.
On the fwd one you have to reach up through a hole to hold the fwd nuts,
anyway one is 15 and the other is 16mm as I remember. Be sure and
reassemble with thread lock. Usually the front disc goes first.

dunno' how "good" it is, but this is usually a good place to start for
highway info and shows the traffic info phone number (Cowtrans is

If you're heading to AZ on I-10, give me a shout out...I'll buy coffee.

sightings) particularly the Siskiyous. I haven't been able to come up with
much. Driving south this time of your isn't my idea of something fun too

If its an 82 it should have the new style GPs. I would pull them and see
that they glow red hot, real quick. (+to outboard end of GP, - to
threads) hold GP in the vice. If you need new ones, stay away from Monarch
& Champion if you can. .Funky GPs are the cause of a high % of winter

I had that problem while on a road trip a couple years ago. I just happened
