We were up at midnight- 1am watching the weather because we had a line of 
stores with tornadoes headed our way. A tornado quickly developed and went thru 
a town where I have family. 40 years and 1 day ago, a huge tornado blew thru 
that same town and blew it away. This one was not nearly as bad.  We didn’t end 
up with anything but a little wind and rain at Okie acres.

[MBZ] I guess a simple 722.6 fluid and filter change is going to turn into a conductor plate replacement

Routine fluid and filter change. Connector plug is leaking and I always replace 
these as part of the job. Loosening the nut it just spins and never comes out. 
Tried tightening it and does not tighten. I’m guessing the plastic inside broke 
and it’s just free spinning. The only thing I know to do is to replace the 
conductor plate. Unless someone has any other ideas.

I replaced the plate already when I first got the car 60k miles ago.

up but not really sure I would participate in any local events. I have been 
told membership is getting ready to be increased to $100 per year.

[MBZ] 126 guide rods

Anyone done 126 guide rod mounts lately?  I have found the bracket 
bushings on FCP but not the actual mounts.  From what I recall it seems 
like this all used to come in a kit with new mounts, bushings, and the 
captive nut deals.

[MBZ] OT bamboo

Anyone ever planted bamboo before? I have thought about planting it along the 
road in front of the house. The road is gravel and im thinking it might help 
keep the dust from blowing my way much. More importantly I like the idea as a 
natural privacy barrier. I know it grows rapidly and needs to be kept cut back. 
Wife is the one who mentioned it. Thoughts?

[MBZ] Discount tire

It appears discount tire is getting taken over by Tire Rack. It’s been years 
since I have bought anything from Tire Rack as their prices were always higher 
than Discount Tire. Discount Tire online appears to be going away completely 
and will only be the brick and mortar locations that will install tires ordered 
from Tire Rack.

It was actually disappointing the more I think about it. I planned on coming 
down to DFW for a long time, but when it looked like clouds and rain, I then 
lucked out and booked a backup hotel in Russleville AR which was going to dead 
center. Wife and kid did not like that idea and wanted to come down here. Had 
we stayed on the side of town where our hotel is, we probably would have seen 
it. The clouds were too far east where we were and the exact wrong moment. It 
was perfectly clear in Russellville. Oh well. Next one 2044.

We are driving down to Dallas. I had it planned for a while, but now it appears 
there will be a good chance of clouds/rain. I then planned to head to Arkansas 
as it looked like a better chance of no clouds. Unfortunately the wife/kid have 
other things planned while in Dallas so I guess we will see what happens.

It’s been a while but it’s down in there somewhere. I don’t think it’s designed 
to manually move it, since it doesn’t have a which release deal like later cars 
but you can, as far as I recall. Seemed like it was buried toward the bottom of 
one side or the other.

On the 210 if you remove the wood panel you can manually take a screw driver 
and pry the leaver back that locks it.

[MBZ] Pressure brake bleeder

I am doing brakes on my Duramax and cant find the GM adapters for my 
Motive pressure bleeder.   I guess I am going to order the adapters but 
this got me to thinking.  Didnt someone mention some other bleeder 
recently that might be better than the Motive?  I am assuming pressure 
bleeding is still the better preferred method over vacuum bleeding?

I went down toward OKC this past weekend to meet up with a guy who is on the 
various Fakebook groups. He wants me to buy out his remaining cars which 
consists of a 300SDL, 2 240Ds, 2 300SDs, and a 380SL. He works on customers 
cars in his garage. In the garage he had one of these he was working on. 

I don’t think I have actually ever seen one in person in real life.

I didn’t end up making an offer on the cars because one of the other guys that 
is all over the Fakebook pages was there. Nice guys.

[MBZ] 08 GL320 no power to the turbo actuator

Finished the oil cooler job on the GL and put wife back into it. She has been 
driving it about a week and reports a whining noise. I have not driven it since 
putting it back together. I ride in it yesterday and hear a high pitched whine 
which made me think boost leak. I have spent all day screwing around with this 
thing. No check engine light. No boost leaks that I can find. Scan with SDS and 
do turbo actuation and it does nothing. Test says pull connector off and check 
for 12 volts at 1-2 pin. I only get .88 volts. Ok, so I’m figuring during the 
cooler install moving the harness around the wire must have broken somewhere. I 
locate the wire in the look from engine to body and same power reading. Test 
and have continuity from the probe point back to #1 on the harness. So issue if 
there is a bad wire is from there back to ecu, or ecu itself I assume. I’m at 
the point of pulled the ecu and connectors. Anyone have a pin out for the ecu? 
Long shot but does anyone know if there is some other issue or something didn’t 
get hooked back up ecu won’t send power to turbo actuator?
