are trying to scam you into buying the reports.

This is a long running scam on CL I’ve seen before, but it’s been a while. The 
potential buyer tries to get you to buy some sort of a report like this so 
they’re sure everything is “legit”. I haven’t seen anything like this for 
several years, and when I did in the past they were far more brazen about it, 
like making an inquiry about the car and then doing the hard sell for the 
report or service they wanted to sell you. They’ll often want you to take the 
exchange private so they don’t get nailed by CL, as this one did - they asked 
for an email address they could work with directly, so I gave them one of my 
sock puppet accounts. That way you can’t flag them with CL.

I still had their previous emails on CL to me, so I flagged them anyway.
