OM606 turbo from a '98 or '99 E300.  Keep the mechanical injection pump and the 
transmission in the recipient, take the engine with turbo and intercooler from 
the donor.  Nice power bump.

Yep; '91 350SDL (126); timing chain broke at 79 kmi; new chain and buncha 
stuff.  Then I drove it another ~125-130 kmi (don't remember 'zackly) 'til 
engine crapped out again.

I doubt it if it's actually a 1994.
Wilton's car with the bad timing chain was a W126 I think.
There might have been a few 1992 W140s with the bad chains.

I'm thinking it might be interesting to put a 1999 24v turbo
and 5sp electronic trans from a W210 in it, but I bet there'd
be some interesting computer work involved to make it run and
shift properly.

Chevy has the oil pump on the wrong end, only front oil pump US  
engines fit around the cross member.  If you are going to bastardize  
it, use a Chrysler 440.
