OM606 turbo from a '98 or '99 E300. Keep the mechanical injection pump and the transmission in the recipient, take the engine with turbo and intercooler from the donor. Nice power bump. -- Max Dillon Charleston SC '87 300TD '95 E300 On November 21, 2015 4:34:51 PM EST, Rich Thomas via Mercedeswrote: >What else could drop in there to replace the lump? > >--R > >On 11/21/15 4:24 PM, Mitch Haley via Mercedes wrote: >> http://lansing.craigslist.org/cto/5322335421.html >> >> ___ >> http://www.okiebenz.com >> >> To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ >> >> To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: >> http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com >> >> > > >___ >http://www.okiebenz.com > >To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ > >To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: >http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Yep; '91 350SDL (126); timing chain broke at 79 kmi; new chain and buncha stuff. Then I drove it another ~125-130 kmi (don't remember 'zackly) 'til engine crapped out again. I'm thinking it might be interesting to put a 1999 24v turbo and 5sp electronic trans from a W210 in it, but I bet there'd be some interesting computer work involved to make it run and shift properly. Chevy has the oil pump on the wrong end, only front oil pump US engines fit around the cross member. If you are going to bastardize it, use a Chrysler 440.
