Re: [MBZ] 1965 190D Craigslist $500
I am not sure we are not headed for a W recession. There is just not enough people out spending cash to keep the service or retail sectors chugging along. Once all the people paying off credit cards instead of shopping fail to hit the mall this holiday season, the whole house of cards will tumble. More jobs lost, more stores close, more people looking for a way out. The local economy is not as healthy as people think. The home sales are not picking up. Near me, the houses are not selling. Store shelves are getting a bit more bare, and the prices at the mall are coming down. I really don't want to move, at least not while I'm ~$50,000 underwater on our house... Which reminds me, I need to drop a note to my mortgage broker. MA is pushing a new film studio on the Cape which is billed as making us Hollywood of the east I'll believe that when I see it. What I'd really like is a gig teaching video production at a college. There are a couple in my area I'm keeping an eye on. -Curt Date: Wed, 23 Sep 2009 08:06:38 -0600 From: Craig McCluskey diese...@pisquared.net Subject: Re: [MBZ] 1965 190D Craigslist $500 To: Mercedes Discussion List mercedes@okiebenz.com Message-ID: 20090923080638.512e9bc0.diese...@pisquared.net Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII On Wed, 23 Sep 2009 06:04:44 -0700 (PDT) Curt Raymond curtlud...@yahoo.com wrote: Hey man, you paid INTO unemployment insurance so be prepared to take some out, don't let 'em have that for free... Re: [MBZ] 1965 190D Craigslist $500
Non-recourse? Unfortunately my mortgage hasn't been sold since Lehman got rid of it (more than a year before the troubles started)... I'm guessing, without actually looking at any paperwork, that it'd be a credit ruining event to walk away. Obama had talked some talk about relief for those of us way underwater but still paying. I bought a house I could afford but I can't get refinanced because I owe too much. At the rate we're going it'll be (even with the modest recovery in home prices recently) 10-15 years before I'm even... Lesson learned, don't take a 100% mortgage, tighten your belt, don't be a dope, put some money in the bank... In retrospect I'd save more money while I had the chance... -Curt Date: Wed, 23 Sep 2009 13:28:21 -0400 From: Mitch Haley m...@voyager.net Subject: Re: [MBZ] 1965 190D Craigslist $500 To: Mercedes Discussion List mercedes@okiebenz.com Message-ID: 4aba5ab5.6030...@voyager.net Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Curt Raymond wrote: I really don't want to move, at least not while I'm ~$50,000 underwater on our house... HOLY COW! If that was near me I'd HAVE to buy it... Get one of those title companies to get a clean title and drive in CLASS... Bad news on the job, I've been there x2. Good time for it anyway with the extra 13 weeks of unemployment approved. I'm thinking I may have to quit my job, apparently the company is going to move as our landlord is bossing us around. New location will probably put another 10-20 minutes on my commute.
