No you have wasted a day and you will still pay $375, probably with

$375

+ freight?

All to save from paying me $500.

Re: [MBZ] ISO W123 rear bumper for my 300TD

2017-06-19 Thread Greg Fiorentino via Mercedes
A few years back SWMBO was stopped at a light in the 300TD when a full size
motorcycle drove into her at speed. The motorcycle was totaled, but luckily the
rider was not seriously hurt. The rear bumper was imperceptibly dented in the
center. She did not want to bother to make a claim, so I offered to do the
work. I went to the shop where the adjuster held court once a week. I received
a check for $1,700.00 for the surface scuff on the rear hatch where the rider's
helmet hit the rear hatch and $1,100.00 for the cost of a USED replacement
bumper since new were NLA! ELEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS!

It was just before Christmas too.

My rear bumper literally fell off the bumper shocks this afternoon with no
warning and I was unable to shove it back one. I've been told this is not
repairable and if this is true then need to replace it. I have a used spare
front bumper, but no rear, alas...

My first hope is that someone in this community has a spare rear bumper, but
failing that, are there any junkyards that still sell used W123 parts?

I have one on my old TD I am going to knacker after I dismantle it, so I
guess I could start now. Make me an offer that does not include any el
merde del gato. I can go take pics of it and send them along, I think
it is in OK condition.
