Re: [MBZ] Mr Pagoda wakes up!
Pretty much, yes. It’s only really noticeable when you’re sitting still or when you first turn the key on to start. It’s a stock Carter high pressure pump that was a little over $100 when I bought mine. The only hack involved was to block off the overflow line, I think. I’ve got pictures and some posts from another forum/list that explain how I did it if you want them, just let me know. -D > On Apr 5, 2020, at 10:10 PM, Dimitri Seretakis wrote: > > Yes I think I remember you had pump issues. Yes I think I remember you had pump issues. Out of curiosity, does the aftermarket pump make the same humming sound but just louder? No such thing as an NOS one, only rebuilt, and not through any official channels, just third party rebuilders. Figure about $800-$1000 for a rebuilt one with yours as a core. So my 71 280SL has been in storage for 3.5 years. I’ve been too busy to drive it or even start it. As I’m preparing my garage for the installation of doors, I need to make room for the installers so the car has to be moved outside for a few days.
