I hope I conveyed that the web site was bad, the guy on the phone from India was great. He gave me an immediate refund and waived shipping on my order. In fact, I think the new Amazon policy may create some jobs there. Re: [MBZ] OT: Amazon warning and phone #
If they are now doing an "opt-out" on Prime instead of an "opt-in", they are asking some ambitious Attorney General like those in CA and NY to whack them good. I got invited to a 60 or 90 day trial last summer and canceled it before the $79 kicked in. They may have even warned me when the deadline drew near, I don't remember for sure. I remember having a Discover Card about 12 years ago. The application gave me the option to buy "credit protection" for something like 2% a month. I declined. Got hit with the premium on my first statement. Called to dispute the charge. "We don't accept disputes on that, you have to deal with our insurance provider". "I never dealt with your insurance provider, YOU put that charge on my statement, either take it off now or I close the account today and your Resident Agent will be getting the summons next week". That got me kicked up to a supervisor and the charge eventually removed. I ended up wishing I'd taken the hint and closed the account. Never want to deal with that company again. Mitch.
