And in typical fashion, the fake news media took the 100% positive test results
to loudly proclaim the sky is falling and the end is near.  These deceptive
news reports are very sensational and drive up ratings with certain segments
and thus increase revenue from ad sales, while simultaneously a vast majority
of Americans surveyed report that they don't trust the media.  Mark Twain was
right: if you don't read the papers you are uninformed, if you do read the
papers you are misinformed...

The clips in your link threw me off, the original movie was black and white.
I've got a copy of it somewhere.
The original is not a musical, it did have a dentist scene though:

Sort of. The remake was a musical, the original was not.
Jack Nicholson's first (small) movie role. The musical was
first a stage show, sort of like the Rocky Horror Show (later
made into the Rocky Horror Picture Show), and is now something
that gets produced in community and school theaters.

Polymerase chain reaction.

The swab can get gunked up or not make contact with the infected
epithelium. It has to go way in the back of your nose where it joins your
throat. This is uncomfortable, so it is often not performed aggressively
enough to get a good sample.

2020-08-12 Thread Max Dillon via Mercedes
I see a basic problem with their premise that we have no other choices other
than test, vaccine, or lockdown isolation.

They didn't even consider the Swedish model of protecting the most vulnerable
and letting the rest of the population achieve herd immunity as the virus runs
its course.  Far less cost in terms of human life and economic impact me
thinks, and there is no perfect lockdown that will prevent the virus from
running its course, the lockdown just slows it down.  We are killing ourselves
trying to delay the inevitable.
