Not true in Chitkagoh. Stay at any stop light controlled intersection during peak traffic times and you will see 2-6 cars go through or finish going through the intersection after the light is red nearly every light cycle. I've seen more intersection accidents here with amber light times twice or triple what they are elsewhere because people insist that they can go through the light during and after the amber sequence. Nope. Not until a camera gets on the stand and testifies. In the US of A, we have the right to face our accuser. Some camera company inGermany is not an accuser in the eyes of the court. Re: [MBZ] OT: The case for banning hammers [AND MACHETES AND GATORS] and registering owners
That is a different issue than the big gummit revenue cameras. They are not about law, they are about revenue. They are about extortion. There are lots of cases where people have proven they were not speeding when the revenue cameras say they were. the camera company just fiddles with the radar to issue the numbers of tickets they want. When they shorten the yellow light time at intersections when the red light cameras go up, you can't argue that it is for safety or the chilluns. It is about money. Don't get suckered into the trap. True traffic safety studies show that increasing the yellow light time decreases accidents; increases safety. There are also studies that show accidents increase where the redlight cameras go up. Do a web search on simon conway traffic cameras. If you do the research there is lots of evidence that the cameras are all about revenue. If you don't like the law (speed limits), work to get them changed --- Just because you don't like them doesn't mean that you get to ignore them.
