I saw a wildcat (probably a bobcat) of some kind a couple years ago while walking the dog. We had come to a Y in the trail, the dog went to the right and the cat stepped out into the trail on the left. I stopped and tried to quietly call to the dog who turned to look at me with a derpy "What?"
