D model BUFFs over Vietnam carried 84 500-pounders (44 klbs) in that "small" bay, plus 24 more on wing pylons. Re: [MBZ] OT BUFF sighting
In 1980, I was building a house, and SAC was doing low altitude training with B-52s. They would fly over often, low. THAT is AWE! When they were keeping constant watch over Nikki and his successors up through Gorby, i'd see the contrails several times a day. If I was able to fast enough, I'd wave to the crew. Same year we were told no fallout from Mt St helens 2000 miles away, but I could hear it dropping through the trees, and it got thick enough it covered maybe 20% of the ground. I still have some somewhere. Meade Dillon via Mercedes wrote: This weekend there's an air show at local Air Force Base. Re: [MBZ] OT BUFF sighting
When I was living up north of Boston some years back, I was working on the house one Saturday Memorial Day weekend. I was up about 20 ft on the ladder doing a gutter. I heard this monstrous sound coming from the other side of the house and look up and a big black one comes directly overhead, could not have been more that 500ft high. It was like the gates of Hell had opened up. I was severely rattled, which being up on the ladder was Not Fun. There was an air show at Hanscom Field and I guess it was either going there to land or make a low pass or something. --R Sent from iPhone > On Apr 26, 2018, at 7:20 PM, as.thompson--- via Mercedes > wrote: > > You are VERY fortunate to have never seen one live since they have been out > in the wild since 1952! :-) > Regards, > Addison Thompson > (who has B-52 flight test time) > >> On 4/26/18 2:15 PM, Meade Dillon via Mercedes wrote: >> This weekend there's an air show at local Air Force Base.
