yep. Not sure what the SS means, but K is Kompressor (supercharged) and L is Leicht (light)...as in SL - sport leicht. SSKL had holes in the frame to lighten it: 8w.forix.com/fos04-sat/photos/photo_62.html Christopher, NOT an expert in MB history --- Craig McCluskey [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: On Fri, 16 Sep 2005 07:48:00 -0700 (PDT) Christopher McCann [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: You get an SSK or two or three for parts (not cheap) and then drill out the frame to make it a much more rare SSKL and then masterly fabricate missing parts. Re: [MBZ] Oldtimer Mercedes Benz, Modell: G3A of 1933 Nazi-Car
That's a nice car. IIRC it, or one like it, is the precursor to the G-Wagen. I know the G4 and G5 were in the G-Wagen lineage, but I'm not sure of the G3A. Perhaps it was but being a limited-production unit, it isn't mentioned much. Here's a pic of the Fuhrer riding in a G4. It looks a little more rugged with a step on the rear fender, but overall quite the same. http://auto.gcom.ru/ww2_001/Germany/PKW/MBenzG3_G4/1937'MBenz%20G4_in%20Muenchen.jpg FYI, the selling company's website has a lot of other very nice cars: http://www.profi-scout.com/ Tim 1982 300TD Moby On 9/14/05, Craig McCluskey [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Oldtimer-Mercedes-Benz-Modell-G3A-of-1933-Nazi-Car_W0QQitemZ4575443405QQcategoryZ6315QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Opening bid $6,500,000.00 ___ For new parts see official list sponsor: http://www.buymbparts.com/ For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://striplin.net/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_striplin.net
