Mine is a 2.2l, I think the 2.5 manual will be even harder to find,
IIRC 84-85 = 2.2l, '86 2.5, '87 2.5t? Something like that anyway.
All of the 190Ds I've ever driven (3) were 2.2l 5spd.
I think the only 2.5 manuals found in the US are frankenbenzes.
Like ours, a mix of 2.2 (84) and 2.5 (86).
I don't think you'll fit in a 190D, Donald.

As far as height is concerned, my 85 190D has more front seat legroom than
either of my 124s (87 300D, 87 300TD). I can't speak much to other
dimensions though.

I totally agree. Actually, I though about a 190 before I bought the LWB
126. I did fit. But, I was very uncomfortable and the rear passengers
would be very uncomfortable, too.

I don't know how tall you are, but I am 6'3 and I am sure I could fit

Who has a 190D 2.2 5 spd. they want to sell? We want to buy. That's the
headline, now I'll provide background:
Thoughts have turned this weekend to looking for a vehicle. We have been
wanting to get something better than the 21 - 25 MPG Honda CRV we have. We
have been thinking for some time
finding a 190D with manual tranny. *It
is the 2.2 engine that gets the better mileage, is that right?*
Our 2.5 manny (frankenbenz) has turned in 37-42 so far. I don't
think the gearing is right, I didn't swap rear ends and I think
maybe I might need to, eventually. Still got the 2.5 auto's
200,000 miles...
In the winter my car gets 35-37mpg, top in the summer was 43. I've been driving
really fast lately so only getting around 38

I would think a 2.0 euro 5sp would be as common in the USA as a 2.5 MBUSA 5sp.
The only factory 2.5 5sp I know of is Ron Dwelle's, and it may be a

Huh. Interesting - maybe a couple miles per gallon difference or so betwix
the 2.2 and the 2.5?
I know I asked this several days ago, but is there any California

wierd.
He does say, though, that he will drive the car to
