Marshal please chime in. I guess I use it because that is what I have done

If there is an advantage to the 5w 40 for the 617.9XX non turbo engine I
would like to hear it. 95% of my driving
distance.

Tell me again why you are looking at 15-W-50

Went to change oil and noticed since last year a not on "sale" 5 quart jug
of 15W/50 Mobil 1 sysnthetic
red NON-extended
performance (go figure!), and is only $20-$21 for the 5-qt jug at
Wal-Mart. Confused yet?

Tell me again why you are looking at 15-W-50 instead of the superior (and I
believe less expensive) 5-W-40 Truck/SUV?

I think the price increase in the 15w50 weight has to do with the new
marketing scheme Mobil has going. They now market various extended interval
oils. The list preference these days seems to be Truck and SUV 5W40.
Supposedly repackaged Delvac 1. I got that a while back at Walmart for under
$20
