Great story! Now, don't tell anyone else - this is just between you me -
one dark night we need to follow that mechanic home and kidnap him - we'll
chain him to the garage
I think the full job entailed three removals and installations of
the injection pump, and I think possibly one of the vacuum pump,
You can't take the IP off without first taking off the vacuum pump.
though it got as high as 27 mpg before, so probably not.
No, you're not going to beat that.
