Maybe. I found some procedure to clear the message that says how long it’s been 
since service and there are some hidden menus you can access. No idea if trans 
temp might be buried in there somewhere but it’s possible, and should be

The GL does not, but the Duramax does.  I would think with as high tech 
as the 164 is surely there is a way to pull up tranny temp.

Since the Duramax is down getting injectors replaced, I took the GL up 
to Kansas City to pickup my new 2 post lift.  The trailer weighs approx 
2k lbs and the lift is about 1500.  Towing up empty with 2k and back 
with 3500 or so, it averaged about 16.5mpg.  This was mostly at around 
70mph.  The GL seems to be a great tow vehicle, tows very smooth and 
never seemed to have any trouble pulling that weight. Had to pass cars a 
few times on 2 lane highways and did not have an issue.  I would be real 
curious to see how it does pulling a car such as a 210, 126 etc.  If it 
was closer to 7k lbs, I would imagine the mileage would be less.  My 
Duramax gets around 14 or so with the crappy injectors that were in 
there.  When I get that finished up, I am not sure there will really be 
a lot of difference between the 300hp 3/4 ton truck and what the GL will 
do as far as towing mileage.  I would not mind using the GL to tow more, 
but I am worried about sudden airmatic failures, or other issues that 
could pop up while on the road that parts would not be as readily 
available.  Also seems like it could wear out the 722.9 faster, not 
really sure how heavy duty that is.
