Doubt it, but if they did there would probably be a charge. Those cars didn’t get restored for free… -D > On Mar 22, 2020, at 4:01 PM, Andrew Strasfogel via Mercedes > wrote: > > ATTABOY! > > I wonder if the Classic Center has a help line for tech support to assist > with diagnoses on older MBs > > On Sat, Mar 21, 2020 at 10:26 PM Buggered Benzmail via Mercedes < > mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: > >> Yeah I gotta dig into it more >> >> --FY >> Sent from iPhone >> >>> On Mar 21, 2020, at 8:49 PM, Kaleb Striplin via Mercedes < >> mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: >>> >>> Just because the pump ran does not mean it is good. Just because the pump ran does not mean it is good. The Das tests will usually tell you exactly what the issue is. [MBZ] Yay me, sorta — 211 airmatic
I decided today to go spend some time trying to figure out why this $500E500 is all squatted down. I took off the air pump to check it out (which I need not have done, but I wanted to see if it was banged up from the off-road excursion. It was fine. Turns out it was getting no electrons. FUSE was fine. A bit of research showed there is a relay in the electrical box. Pulled that and tested it, seemed to be kaput (0 ohms) across the actuation contacts. So I jumpered the 12V contacts and it ran!!! So the relay is bad. I had the car off the ground, wheels dangling but it didn’t seem to pump up any struts. There was air coming out of the intake side. This might indicate blown o-rings maybe so it might need a rebuild. I put the computer on and did a diagnostic on the airmatic after I dropped it back down. It had a bunch of codes, one being the solenoid which I guess controls air going out? A couple of the struts which are not totally collapsed were showing 5+bar pressure which is about a third of what they are supposed to be. The other two were much lower. I tried to run pressurization on each strut but I think it needs to be off the ground, or if the air is not actually being solenoided out I guess it won’t work. Got dark and late so I came in. I’ll have to dig into it a bit more. Oh, I disconnected the 2 rear air lines at the pump distribution block and put compressed air in them while the car was off the ground but no change. Maybe there’s some other logic or components in the system they won’t allow that , I don’t know. I’ll research it all more. --R Sent from iPhone ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
