I was able to get the delivery valve seals and springs on our '82 240D/3.0 replaced this afternoon. The only problem I had was noticing after installing the #1 and #2 injection lines that I had not installed the keepers that keep the delivery valve holders from turning. Oops. I had to use a small

Use a pick to R R the copper ring. Don't ever touch the barrel with anything. Use the pick to center the DV and copper seal. Use surgical gloves. Don't touch the spring with anything but the pick or clean surgical gloves. (Fuel on the gloves is ok) You don't need a screwdriver for any

Curt. The delivery valve holders ( the serrated vertical tube under the injector line nut at the IP ) are simple to remove with the correct socket, see Dimitri. FIRST clean the top of the IP to white glove inspection state, then remove the injector lines. Remove the locking plates. Clean

I used Diesel Purge to lube the o-rings. I left the spring on the DVs in the pump - no problems. Do them one at a time, then you have no issues with keeping them straight and going back in the right holes. Yes, once you pull the intake filter box, you'll have plenty of room in the 201 to do the

You have leaking o-rings, but you have to remove the delivery valve holder to replace them. Best to use a new copper seal, keepi it clean, and torque correctly, else you get leaking seals when you re- install them.. The symptoms of leaking seals are rough idle, knock on the affected

I change the DV springs, the copper washers and the orings. I put the socket, the orings springs, copper washers, and the plastic clips for the injection lines all in one box, because when I need one, I need them all. Kinda like keeping the mityVac, vacuum Ts, plugs, line, etc all together
