Doesn't anyone use coolant test strips??? Been using them for years on all kind of diesel powered equipment to test for presence of the good or bad stuff in coolant. Napa sells them, just ask. There is a shelf life so check when you buy and get fresh. Takes about 5 minutes to determine if your

It will probably do no short term harm but the problem with coolant is most folks don't change it often enough. The MB/Zerex G-05 has a longer life so you can go two, maybe three years between changes. If you have ordinary green coolant then you have to change it yearly as the buffers and

That will help, but it's best to flush, run the system with fresh water, flush again, and fill. It won't completely remove the old coolant, but will lower the concentration levels to insignificant amounts. Ideally, if you can pull the block drain and flush you'll get nearly all of it out.
