[MBZ] have 115 need trans

My step son has an old 1969 220d. It seems that he was jump starting the car by 
rolling it down a hill to start.  Any way the part (don't know the terms) that 
connects the trans to the driveshaft is stripped as well as the splines that 
come out of the back of the transmission.  It seems to me that I will need the 
part that connects to the driveshaft as well as the part extending from the 
transmission repaired.  This may mean new trans?  Thanks for any thoughts.

Tailshaft in the tranny.  Unlikely you can source the part - will probably have 
to find a replacement tranny.

As for the drive shaft portion, good luck.. Used might be a possibility, but 
not sure how easily you can find one.

It's been a long time since I've been inside a transmission, but I know that in 
some domestic slush boxes the tailshaft can be serviced with the transmission 
in the car.  Typically the tails haft or rear housing can be removed, exposing 
the part.  What will determine this is how it connects to the rest of the 
transmission

You might want to consider calling Sun Valley Transmissions and seeing if they 
might have the part, too.  Since they are an MB transmission rebuilder, it's 
possible they had a used one laying around.
