Re: [MBZ] my 280CE destroyed by gang bangers

2007-01-30 Thread Zoltan Finks

Me too, Gary. Just adds another degree to the simmering rage inside me.

Gotta say, not to flaunt anything, but the couple of times that I've
called the cops (non-emergency number even) they have been to my house
within 5 min. Had to call them most recently when someone placed a
large human dropping, and some unknown liquid on my cloth driver seat.

Of course there was "nothing" they could do - were not interested in
the footprints in the snow or the piece of toilet paper left on
ground, and said that they couldn't do fingerprints due to the cold.
What?

Anyway, all I can say is I too am sorry for your loss.

It does seem that the larger the town, the more the cops seem to just
throw up their hands. When my Harley was stolen, the cop came within
an hour and just quickly and unsympathetically took a report and all
but ignored the evidence I pointed out. He just said "you're not
getting your bike back - it's across the border by now." He was wrong
- I later found out that it was sitting inside a van just up the
street. The drugged wackos in my complex were in on all of it.

Once again, my sympathies. All the talk on this is very depressing and true.

Gary, Sorry for your loss.
On the bright side, I live in an area that does respond to non-violent
crimes. My 1981 300SD was stolen from my front yard at 1 a.m. last year by
a couple of 14 year olds. At 3 a.m. the County Sheriff Patrol and City
Police woke me up to say they had found my car. I didn't even know it was
missing!
They then waited for me to get dressed and drove me 12 miles to identify and
retrieve the car.

I live in a small town, population of about 3,000.

There's a story about an old man who noticed his barn being robbed one night.
When he called the cops, the response was "we don't have anyone free at the
time, so just hold tight and we'll be there in a few hours".
Obviously disgusted, the old man hangs up the phone, wait's 30 seconds and
calls back.
"Never mind about the police," he says, "just send the coroner. I shot them
all for trespassing".
Less than 2 minutes later, 2 police cars, 1 sherrif car, and an ambulance
arrive with full sirens and catch the robbers red handed.
After it is all said and done, the Sheriff's deputy says to the old man, "I
thought you said you shot them all." And the old man replies, "I thought you
said you didn't have anyone to spare!".

Sad, but true.

I think most of the trouble lies in the fact that if a cop fires at some law
breaking idiot he is instantly the one who is in the wrong, he gets
suspended, he has to go to boards and he gets grilled in
investigations..and then he and his department gets sued by some idiot
with an ACLU lawyer.

Don't get me wrong, this is not a blanket statement condeming the ACLU and I
don't want loose cannons running around but I feel law enforcement dudes
have their collective hands tied.

Sorry to hear about your car, Gary.
Here is Okie land, the cops show up pretty quickly when the drunks
plow into your car, parked in the drive, in the wee hours of the

never saw/heard a cop. Go figure. Maybe they have more respect for old

Hi Bill,
When certain people want to pass more restrictive gun laws they always say,
"Why do you need a gun? If a crime occurs just call the police!" Well, duh
- Bill just found out why that's absurd. Some of us would like to see our
lives protected *before* our throat is cut! But we're expected to turn over
the protection of our lives and possessions to a police force that can't be
bothered to protect us (I know it;s not our policeforce's fault).
They don't even want to fill out the freakin' paperwork!

Now, Bill is going to lose the value of his car as well as his time to get
it fixed or the time needed to replace it depending on his choice of
repair/replace.

This comes at a time when Az is considering legislation making it illegal
for someone to observe someone doing something illegal while armed - in
other words - the Minutemen who are trying to stem the flow of illegals
crossing the border are being sent a message - don't come to help guard the
border if you plan on being able to defend yourself should you be attacked.

Could things get *more* ridiculous? Why are there people in this country
hell-bent on turning our personal security over to a police force that is
over-worked, under-paid, ill-equipped, etc., etc. ??

Geez. And, Bill - I'm truely sorry a crowd of nitwits had nothing better to
do than destroy your property. They should be picking up trash along the
highway - or shoveling snow from same highway -one little shovel-ful at a
time.

Why can't our politicians think of this kind of solution?

Re: [MBZ] my 280CE destroyed by gang bangers

2007-01-29 Thread Rich Thomas
These creatures are infesting Houston too, homicidal sociopaths.
Houston is a de facto "sanctuary city" where "undocumented immigrants"
get a free pass ("law" enforcement cannot ask if they have legal status)
so not much can be done about them unless they are caught in some
flagrant crime. And even if they are caught for something and put in
jail, they recruit a dozen more, and have more "cred" with their
homies. I think the cops are afraid of them too, because they have no
restraint in shooting anyone, cops especially. Part of their initiation
into the gang apparently involves some random act of physical violence
against some one or some thing, perhaps your car just got lucky. There
have been several incidents here of that sort of thing, but a lot of it
is not reported because any witnesses or victims will most likely be
killed if they testify. There have been a few cases of that mentioned
in the paper.

They have also been moving further away, out to smaller little towns.
My parents live in a small town in KY (maybe 30k people), they were
victims of some forgeries, so I got talking with the newspaper reporter
who did a story about that. She covers the court/crime beat, nice young
woman from a small-town upbringing in VA. Apparently a coupla MS13
vatos showed up there last summer to take over the dope business and the
cops are (privately) scared s***less about it, as are the local gangstas
who are totally outclassed by these vermin.. I have noticed the last
few years a lot of Hispanics in the area, doing farm work. MS13 follow
them, to sell dope and to shake them down as well. The cops are hemmed
in on both sides, if they deal with these guys as they ought to be dealt
with the apologists will be all over them, and more homie reinforcements
will show up for vengeance. My sense is that the problem is being dealt
with "quietly" as sometimes happens in small communities.

Not good. No politician wants to deal with it, D or R.

tired of losing elections due to the gun issue. Atlanta may be different
because you have a majority Black population, and gun violence is much more
of an issue in the Black community.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Gary, and sorrier to hear another tale of
the apathy of those sworn "To Serve and Protect." But you should know
by now that fighting crime takes valuable resources away from real
police work like generating revenue; care to hazard a guess as to how
many speeding tickets have been issued today in DeKalb County?

Hey, at least in Georgia you can still drive a pick-up truck. They're
essentially outlawed where I live (off-street parking simply not an
option for most): http://www.richmondheights.org/FAQ.ASP?QID=132

i finally got someone to talk to on the phone

they couldn't care less that this was the work of an organized gang

they couldn't care less that the people who do this are in the country
illegally

seems they are worried about online gambling and high priced hookers

i'm pretty sickened myself

and if you did fire even a warning shot in defense of your property, you are
going to jail.

i expect this sort of thing in places like san francisco. but the fact that
it has even taken over georgia is something to think about

So sorry about the car. That is sort of thing that I am sure all of us
worry about with our much loved cars. Frustrating as it is to discover the
limits of actual 'enforcement' [I caught someone breaking into my car and
got a description, plate #, abandoned tools and hair sample stuck to the
mirror - all the cop wanted was to know who to send the report for
insurance], I have been in enough other places to be happy that I am here.
To steal a good line, It is the worst imaginable system, except for all the
others.

Subject: [MBZ] my 280CE destroyed by gang bangers

my 79 280CE was vandalized to the point of destruction this weekend by
members of this organization:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mara_18

upon discovery this morning, i called both state farm insurance and the de
kalb county police department. i have since again called the de kalb county
police department. as of 3pm, i have no response from either on this
matter.

as a "good citizen", i am expected to pay my "fair share" for costs of
government. i am expected to pay health care, education, imprisonment, etc
for these gang bangers (and probably illegals) who destroyed my car in a
parking lot in plain site of one of the busiest thoroughfares in the atlanta
metropolitan area. and when i ask my government to take a police report on
this matter (i am not even so unreasonable as to ask them to actually take
an interest in the gang perpetrators who are likely not even supposed to be
in this country), they basically tell me "don't call us, we'll call you".

so now i'm waiting for them to call for six hours.

can any of you honestly say that we still have a country here?

I grew up an ardent patriot and defender of the united states as the
greatest nation the world has ever know.

now i grow more and more disgusted to be an american every single day.

my country is just a passport and a shakedown.

For what it's worth, Fresno PD does not come out to take a report for
auto theft since it happens so often. Instead, there is a phone number you
call and leave the information, then you meet with a non-sworn person to
get your copy of the report, usually at the police station. OR, they'll
just mail it to you.
