I took a look at the car after work today and found a nice rust hole in the
top of the pipe from the center to rear muffler. I took it off the car and
welded a patch over it, sprayed some primer on the welds, and re-installed
it. I was even able to re-use the muffler clamp. Car is much quieter now

for mine --- no dents but peeling clear coat.

Its normal, the crankcase is vented to keep things like dipsticks
from flying through the air. It affects the running of the engine too.

I am pretty sure most/all 114/115's with fuel injection used the D-jet.
K-jet came in with the 123's.
Mercedes did use a pure mechanical injection system much like a diesel
injection system in 50's and 60's.
