[MBZ] electric boost switch

Had a funny one today. The electric boost limiting switch on my 83 300TD got stuck in the on position. That means it was not allowing the ALDA to add extra fuel. How it got that way I have no idea. My turbo has never done more then 8lbs of boost ever. I do have a boost gauge on the line and

I just got done replacing the glow plugs but the thing won't start. I tested all the old ones and 4 out of 6 were bad. When I first tried to start it glow light was not coming on. It then started coming on like normal and plugs were getting power. It shows no signs of even trying to start. I

It's a big relay in the relay box passenger side, control a lot of stuff I guess. I pulled mine out and took it apart and all the solder joints look ok, plugged all the plugs back in and it seems to be fine, which I have read will help for a while. Even with the glow light on it does not want

I think there must have been some failure at the hydraulic compensator / valve. Perhaps the hydraulic compensator jammed and broke apart, and that jammed up the camshaft so that the camshaft gear broke apart. If pistons touched valves, aren't those piston's associated bearings now also suspect?
