I remember looking at a sales chart about ten or fifteen years ago. The C500
was faster than the E55. Haven't seen many C500s around, but this might be
equivalent.

7 years ago when I bought my 2010 Dodge RAM I spent some time considering if a
Rover would be a good replacement for my aging Ranger. The mechanic down the
street had one in for a wheel bearing replacement. The part was something like
$3500. I decided that British engineering was not for me.

I would find and pay a competent mobile glass guy in your area to do the work.

A Sun Valley rebuild is only $1750 exchange. That’s not bad. Get the car for
$1500, drop about $2500-$3000 for the transmission and R and you’ve got a
560SEL for under $5k.

What are people using these days? Harder to find diesel oil that isn't meant
for modern DPF/Bluetec engines.
FCPEuro is recommending this:

Not a synthetic oil, but price isn't too bad.

High TBN, meets an older MB spec according to the label. $22/gallon.
We have a Tractor Supply the next town over, I'll check that out next time.

I forgot to mention I finished up the injector replacement on the Duramax.
After I bled the system I cranked on it and it fired right up after about 30
seconds. I expected to have to crank it a minute or 2. Runs and sounds great

The area does have kind of a blue collar vibe. A local I was talking to in a
bar called it "The Redneck Riviera"
There was still some unrepaired storm damage on some of the beach houses, I
think it was Hurricane
