Yes my thoughts too. I’m not a job hopper and hate change but in the back of my
mind if I accepted more money to stay I would think they are always keeping an

Yup, the time I asked for compensation I also got more time to work from home
and got brought to the table for a bunch of discussions I was being left out
of. Those were discussions where I was being "protected" but meant I didn't
have a voice at the table and was frustrated by that.

I offered a guy $700 for a nice 07E350 with a munched engine, all kinds of cam

In my experience job turnover in India is high. Very high. We 'trained' our
replacements in India three times IIRC, before they axed our office entirely.

Do ALL these M272s have the problem eventually, or were some of them good? If
it's at 174k miles and still OK, does that mean it most likely won't have this
problem?
I suppose it's *possible* that some actually didn't have inferior parts. If the
balance shaft gear is bad, it should have a code set, or a pending code. If no
code pending, I might take a chance, but I would use impending engine failure
as a bargaining chip.
