I recently found a 900VA APC UPS in the thrift stream,
unopened in its original box. The box was dusty,
and looked 'old'. As expected, the battery was NFG.
It's a 24V pack, open-circuit. I clipped an old consumer
battery charger (leak generator) to it. This high-tech

Last week I had a flat tire on the Tucker Sno-Cat drag. Monday I got the
repaired tire but I had to lift the axle (the axle is on the rear of the drag
and pivots to lift the drag for road crossings) to get it on, so I had to fire
up the machine. That turned out to be a no-go, the battery didn't

The engine in the ASV is a Deere 4045T which got put in all kinds of stuff like
loaders. I expect being able to start would be important.
Specifically on our ASV I don't know who chose the 1400W heater, it was in the
thing when I took over. The box is in the cab which is how I know what size it

Advance managed to come through with a 300W unit if I go to Keene.

I used the magnetic heaters on air cooled generator sets to keep the oil
relatively fluid at low temperatures. Do realize that they’re pretty low
wattage and likely won’t get any water out of the fuel, just liquify/thaw it,
that’s all.
