How long should I let a battery charge (small 8A charger) before I
assume it's as charged as it's going to get?

On the diesel I thought that the vacuum signal mainly affected the

You might be right if it started without ether and was drivable. Until
then, it's a project with all the speculative costs that entails.
A $10K car doesn't have to be perfect, but it does have to start and

Finally got around to installing new master cylinder on my 300SD. The
pedal felt a bit spongey I thought, and would sink to the floor if held.
I bench bled the new cylinder, installed, bled the system, and not much
has changed. So I'm wondering, can anyhing else cause a sinking pedal?

I had to pull most of the underlayment out of the W116 when I got it,
because it was waterlogged and disintegrating.
I seem to recall Rusty saying this material is not available, thinking
about using this as a substitute:
