You really have to like doing everything yourself, or you are looking
at a money pit. With any luck, it will last long enough for you to
install a factory rebuilt engine..
Great car IMHO.

Until then, we are looking a bit of turmoil as people try to push a
technology that is desirable, but not economically viable.

Yea, I know there is a lot of it out there. But the people with the money
don't care. In a way that is good. It means the door will remain open for
the little guys to keep doing their thing.

It is way important to replace the plastic clips holding the injector lines.
If you do not, the lines vibrate and will crack. Learned that one the hard
way

That car actually has none of the available options for that year. It's as
cheap as you could buy one. Does not even have the glass sunroof - which in
Florida is the sign of a true tightwad.

I doubt there are many cars more expensive to own than a 'cheap' Mercedes.
Although admittedly, I was only considering cars that work to begin with.
That leaves out the British, French, and Yugoslavians.

If you find a 99 E-class with ESP (Stability Control), the safety features
(front, side, and head curtain airbags) might outweigh the rust issues. They
do have lots of electronics to go bad, but are a pleasure to drive.

If the 99 E-Class is any example, the new Mercedes will seldom if ever last
