Folks I always call a potential buyer before they come … there is some FB scam where people want you to give them some goodie code which maybe lets them hack your Google email or maybe Google number …. I only eat there is there is absolutely nothing else available and only if an emergency. That has not happened in years. I used to be able to get a grilled chicken salad there. It's hard to disagree. In reality though I think dumbness has always been the standard, it's just a lot easier to see/experience more dumb people per day now than it was in the past. Does everybody have a local Facebook page? The one for Winchendon is full of the dumbest people I've ever seen. During our recent major snowstorm power was knocked out for pretty much the whole town. People were outraged that McDonalds wasn't open, what were they going to eat? I suggested that most of them would do well to skip a few meals. Exactly, and the same on Mercedes wheels as well. However, trying to get them to look it up or send a picture is often the challenge. More often than not they think you can tell what they are by describing the car they came off of or just the tire size and rim diameter, which may not even be the car they were originally built with. The very best thing about VW wheels is that the size and offset are stamped (well probably cast) on the inside of every wheel. Usually people include a picture of it but if not you can usually direct a potential seller to it. [MBZ] Fakebook search sucks
I know it’s been mentioned several times but the fakebook search sucks. I literally had an ad for a car pulled up, looked at map of where it was at, went back to Fakebook and now I can’t find it anywhere. You search Mercedes and it pulls up just about every other make as well, and I can’t find any reference to Mercedes listed in their ads either. It will often pull up ads for the first time that were listed days ago. It is very annoying. Pretty typical FB behavior. When I’ve posted cars for sale or other things, I would venture that easily 75% of the PMs I get are just the canned “Is this still available?” with no response when I reply. I don’t get it. I’ve tried putting a disclaimer in ads about not responding to these generic PMs, which I don’t any longer, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. Check your maths, too. If you want first month’s rent and a month’s damage deposit, it’s $3500. I'd read that a lot of the young farmers are finding land that way and as my fields are mostly small it'd likely be a young, small timer that would be interested. It is so frustrating dealing with people on there about cars. Sent a message to a guy about a car I want to buy. Ad is horrible and the car I’m interested in is mixed in with a generic ad with several different cars in it. I ask him a couple of questions and he answers vaguely then gives me his number to call him. I try calling and number says it’s not accepting calls. I message him again and say I want to come Sunday. He says OK and to call him. Sunday rolls around I call him and same thing. Send him a message saying his phone is not working and give him my number. He has read the message but no response. Message him again saying I can be there Friday. Still no response. On another car, sent the seller a message. They have read it but no response from them either. Amazing.
