Then make sure the big fuse is good. The controller is likely repairable - but you may have to be determined. Being familiar with electronic repair would be an advantage. I have a dead one sitting here that I have been meaning to open up but have not done that yet. At worst you can open that one up and see if it is broken, burned out, dirty, etc. and either clean it up/fix it or junk it. --R On 3/25/14 3:49 PM, G. M. I had a failed relay in a Nissan years back, by passed it so it was old school push button to glow. That is a drastic and cheap solution. Yes my 240D (now curt's) has a push button for GP's. I kind of liked it. Reminded me of late 49's early 50's starter buttons. My 1984 300D Turbo won't start, but there's a loud buzzing/groaning coming from the glow plug control relay box and the buzzing/groaning will stop if either of the two plugs to the glow plug control relay are unplugged. I'm assuming the problem is the glow plug control relay? First check everything else, like battery connections, grounds, etc. Relay buzzing is a common symptom when there is nearly zero juice available where it is needed. Includes GP fuse for crackage. A meter is the _first_ step whenever things start to go wrong electrically. Is there any way to repair these things, as a new replacement is rather pricey? TIA They can be resoldered, often. -- Jim ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com All posts are the result of individual contributors and as such, those individuals are responsible for the content of the post.
