I was driving the SEC this afternoon and noticed a little clunk on
breaking at LF wheel. At first I thought it was something in the
suspension but then it got to where I had to push the break petal a bit
to get the breaks to engage, felt like left front, and then it would
sorta clunk and then grab. I'm thinking either the caliber is starting
to cease up or the break hose is maybe getting bad and needs to be
replaced, like it takes some extra pressure to squeeze past the hose if
it is sorta collapsing.

No it just started.  I was at first thinking the guide rod mount but
then this thing with having to push the pedal a bit to get it to engage
says brake, probably hose, and it got progressively worse as I drove
this afternoon, which would not be the bushing. I was thinking of a
bunch of little stuff I need to order for this car, I guess I should
just do that soon.

I built a pressure bleeder with a $10 garden sprayer (one gallon), a
spare brake fluid cap, fittings to attach a hose to the cap (with a hole
drilled in the center) and 1/4" OD vinyl hose. Works grate on breaks!
FCP has ATE break fluid in 1 L cans for a reasonable price. I bought 4
at a time.

I think a better option would be purchasing a Motive pressure bleeder,
so fluid is pushed through the system instead of sucked.

Doesn't the ABS pump circuit need pressure vice suction?

Someone on Youtube puts grease around the valve to keep air from being
sucked in. I wonder if synthetic grease would be safe enough on the
assumption that some of it might get sucked into to caliper?

I use an HF vacuum pump in line with a BIG jar in order keep brake
fluid out of the pump, but it would work better if the air could be
stopped from coming in through the threads IMO.

Note: The drop tube in the jar should be only half way to the bottom
so it doesn't make the brake fluid foam up and get into the pump.

Note: I'll try teflon next time. Thanks, OK Don.

P.S. Replacing the master cylinder and all calipers came out well on
the '83 240D, but it took about 3 times as long due to geezeritis, and
because one of the calipers had a port on the wrong side and had to be
replaced.
