I think only the 16v got LSD. IIRC, the Sportline has the same ratio and
smaller steering wheel than the 16v, with front suspension similar to the
16v, rear stiffer/lower than normal but I don't think it was SLS like the
16v. Seats identical to 16v, but I think there were more colors available.
Badge on the fender of at least some of them. There was a champagne 2.6-5ap,
92 or 93, in the Milwakee area a couple of years ago, one owner IIRC,
asking $4-5k. Out of my buying range, but probably worth it considering it's
5x as rare as a 16v and seemed to be in beautiful shape. I think 16v were at
least 1/2 5sp, but the sportlines were probably less than 20% stick, and they
only made about 400 a year total 2.3+2.6.

Mitch.

Anyone know for sure what years and with what engines the manual was an
 option in the USA?

All but the 1987 turbo AFAIK, but the install rate was well under 10% (probably
less than 5%) on most of them. In the 1990's you could get a Sportline with 5sp
and either 2.3 or 2.6. 2.6 stick Sportline is very close to a 16v in
performance and interior.
