Re: [MBZ] good fuel hose

I bought some of the Gates 400 PSI transmission cooler line. It
should be compatible with petroleum Dissel. It is a grade or two up
from what they sell as fuel line.

The first time I replaced it in the Dogde van, the OE stuff only
lasted 7-8 yrs. The rplancement trnas cooler hoses only lasted a yr
or two. The last time, it was the gates stuff, and they lasted 7-8
yrs so far in transmission service. (higher temps and pressures)

Anything Trident will be excellent stuff. Various diameters and
applications.

I think the short hoses without fittings are really bulk hose at the

Have you looked at McMaster-Carr?
I bought some viton hose for return line hose that lasted amazingly well.

Most of the flaps fuel hose lasts only 5 years or so.  sometimes
more, sometimes less.

Has anyone found a source for good quality hose that may be locally
available at major cities?  (Like Grainger)

If that is not possible, is there a online source?

Do the dealers stock bulk hose?  I doubt it.  Most dealer hoses are
sold with fittings on one end for big money.

While I have the tank out, I need to replace the hoses.  Because the
line out is a royal pain on a 124, i don't want to have to do it
again in less than 20 years.

Is there any superhose out there?
