I agree that having your exponents poached is extremely annoying and can
and probably does drive away new participants. When it happens repeatedly
and when the person who does it, does so repeatedly and with a clear
disregard to whether the exponents are being checked in regularly or not -
Mary
As Mary said it has been moved to the master database and out of the
primenet database I checked and it is there under DAIDALOS

Yes George,
A list of all bad results would be an excellent idea. It would go
a long way in helping us keep tabs on our computers and at the same time
keep the stats junkies - like those on Team Prime Rib :-) - accurately
informed on their contribution or lack thereof.

Michael,
If getting work is your only problem try using the manual test
pages at
http://www.mersenne.org/ips/manualtests.html
It's not ideal but should work.

I have been unable to reach his pages using both the domain name
hogranch.com - which gets a non-existant domain name error - or the IP
address 209.133.33.182 .
What gives?

I heard back from Ernst and as he said putting a www before the
hogranch.com works just fine.

Mersenne Prime FAQ --
I think perhaps what may be needed is a new rule that users who don't
complete assignments in a reasonable period of time (say 1 year?) should
lose the right to the assignment, even if they do check in regularly.
Does this apply to 10M assignments?
As George proposed on the GIMPS forums
George,
Can you clarify again what no progress is? The same person who
has the exponents you mentioned also has several exponent that show up 1
iteration complete. Are you going to nuke those as well?
The one group of people I'm a bit afraid for - since I have
belonged to that
Chris,
You can avoid a lot of this manual labor by just putting this
line in prime.ini
SequentialWorkToDo=0
Read undoc.txt to see how it works. What this will do is, force P-1 to
be performed first.
