Hello Mike Mazur,
Wanted to personally thank you for your informative
posts.
You were the first to post to the List, last month,
asking if anybody knew what were the laws related to
finding meteorites in Norway. When you never got an
answer to your question, you went out and searched for

Hi, Darren,
Unavoidable. The use of Pluto to refer allegorically to
things in the depth, in the darkness, faraway, and dead, is
centuries old. For more than a year here in the List, I've been
using the term Plutonian instead, but geologists speak of
plutonian processes and the like, so it's
Mike, thank you for the apology. It's great that the two of you talked. I believe communication is the universal solvent. I am new to this group, so don't know the history of it, but I didn't like to see the negative flowing freely. This is good news. Thanks again for the apology!
It looks somewhat like a cauldera, to me, a cindercone long filled up with water. Kind of like Crater Lake in Oregon. lolIf there were more documentation available, reliable documentation, not just something posted on the internet, I might be less incredulous...Suzi Platypus Girl"Sterling
Apparently Meade has gotten into the micromount business. They have a tray
for about $400 with 24 different micromount specimens. Nothing really rare
(I don't think there were any lunar or Martian specimens when I last
looked), but a nice collection starter.

Hello Rick and List,
As you are new on this List, I don't really know who I am talking to, how
old or how young you are, how much you know about meteorites and comets,
if you already have any meteorites, whether you have already read any books
about meteorites, etc., etc. Maybe you would like to

Hi,
The New York published an editorial on the
planet question. Does that settle it?
Hardly. But it does demonstrate that the
driving force of the Eight Planet Gang is largely
emotional and prejudicial.

Why not dream the impossible dream! I got my 0.21-gram partslice of
Ibitira from Michael Cottingham for definitely under $100 (it is not
for sale, of course) but it took years of waiting

Well, much of the controversy started when that planetarium in New York found
that it could not fit Pluto into its display because it was too far from the
