Anyone else think that shot A here looks very similar to the polygons
that occur due to freeze thaw movement in the Arctic...probably a
similar scale too.
I sent this on wedensday (07-09-19), but it never came to the list.
Art said he found it, blocked because it was html, and had released it
to the list, still it didn't arrive...
So I post it here again.

Darren,
What we are talking about here are most likely lava tubes. These cave like
structures can run for miles and be quite large and complicated. When the
surface is too near, the tube collapses, creating windows, or if you are in
the cave, skylights. Relax, this is a perfectly good

A crater that mysteriously appeared near Lake Titicaca in Peru last week was
probably caused by a meteor, researchers say. The Associated Press reports that

Still unclear is why scores of residents
reported falling ill shortly
after the crater's discovery, but researchers say it
could have been psychosomatic.
In one report I read that this event excavated several
carcasses of live stock which had been buried on the

Hi ,
Thanks for the emails! I appreciate the input greatly.
I knew there would be issues regarding heat and cold,
and which one did what to a meteorite. However, I do
believe that I am correct. Since water in usually
involved meteorite will contract in the summer and
expand in the winter.

Hi, Eric, List,
Any planet with any atmosphere has a cut-off
point on the lower limit of crater sizes. On the Moon
(no atmosphere), crater sizes go down, down, smaller
and smaller, until you see little 10 cm. craters and below.
Venus, on the other hand, with a massive atmosphere,

please excuse the off topic post.
We will be travelling until October 15 and have only temporarily access to our

Hi
What polarized filters You use in Your microskopes.
I use normal, cheap two Polarized (PL) filters for digital cameras. But I
dont see strong, deep colors like on photos from proffesional microskopes.
On some thin sections I see good contrast, but on others there is low
contrast or even

Marcin, of course, the position of the light source - in other words:

Hello and good day David Deyarmin,
Wow, that 120 g Uruacu (IAB) is fantastic.
Thanks.
I do have a question.
The cut on the Uruacu. You said it was not polished.
The cut you got almost looks polished.
By that I mean, it's smooth to the touch.
When I cut, I can see and feel the saw blade marks.
