Hi, List,
Since there seems to be some debate about whether
the Carancas impact killed any animals, I am passing
along from Carl Esparza, who went to Carancas with
Bob Haag (and who can't seem to post to the List), a
statement from one of the Aquila-Condor organization
workers who went to
As Greg has already pointed out on the list earlier the Chergach/Erg Chech
or Mali material as it has been dubbed by sellers can be clearly
distinguished from e.g. Benguerir, Amgala, Bensour and Bassikounou by
comparing broken or cut surfaces.
Mali has a dark ash grey color with meandering
I don't think what Steve paid for it is anyone's
business except Steve.

Good morning list.I have a 70.5 grams fragment and a
519 gram individual of mali. That is what I will call
it.I hope to have a few more soon.Of the 2 pieces I
have I can differently see the differences vs. this
against bassikounou. They are both highly magnetic, thus
suggesting an H class, but to me
On Nov 1st a friend in north central Minnesota reported the following to me.
I'm asking her
for more specific info.
Anyone else see this? Sounds to me like there may be pieces on the ground.

Hello Svend and all,

No, I am not Steve's agent or mouthpiece. It is
called manners and courtesy towards someone else's
business. It would not matter if it was Steve, youself
or anybody else. I would feel the same- it is how I
was raised.
It is not in our business to ask- especially

Hi again list.I will be really short on this no

any other meteorite I buy is my business, but if I
chose to indulge Mr.e-man,I will.If not I won'tI paid
$110.I guesss this is the going rate depending who you
get it from.I either overpaid,unpaid
Is the Mali material currently being classified?
I'm looking for an ugly specimen that would be large enough to produce a
50mm sphere.
If you have one that you think might fit my requirements contact me off list

Thanks
Hi Mike,
Since he mentioned I was the one who sold it,
The price also reflects on my business (which may
be what was at question to begin with).
I sold the 1.118g Carancas for $110- ($100/g).
Best wishes, Michael

Oh sorry Mike, manners and courtesy... you mean like posting my PRIVATE
EMAIL to you on the list? Those kind of manners and courtesy? Perhaps
you someone needs to attend remedial training... BUT I was raised to
not talk about other people's mommas. I think I grasp rolling eyes

Carancas and the Dragon was one of my favorite stories growing up! I hear that
Hugh Jackman is going to play Carancas in the movie.

6. But, what do I know :-)
Anyone care to hazard an opinion or point me to some
