FWIW: WKOW-TV (Madison, WI) just reported receiving telephone calls
describing a bright meteor. Probably just an Eta Aquarid (or
over-active
imaginations), but who knows. No other details at the moment.
About what time was the meteor seen?

I heard about it from an eye witness just after it fell.
It was around 9:30 or so.
Heard it flashed green and lit up the area.

Well...just had an Eureka moment. I was sitting here at my desk with a
bottle of volcanic ash from Mt. St. Helens and a earth magnet in my hand. I
brought the magnet to the ash and discovered that the ash was attracted to
it. I didn't know this before...son of a gun. :O)

under more favorable burning conditions take days to burn this much. Anyhow,
I wouldn't connect the meteor with the fires in any way.

and the meteor showers are from the tails of comets.
Fireballs are produced by both asteroids and comets. So far meteor showers
are related to comets.

Okay...I'm trying to find out some info about Lucerne Dry Lake in Southern
California near Barstow. Can anyone tell me if you are allowed to or able
to drive a camping trailer onto the dry lake for camping purposes? Also do
people pitch tents there without getting chased off. I'm not all

A lot of viewers are clinging to the hope they will become overnight
millionaires.
With this being said, I can't help thinking that the new buyers and

Hi all...I just got back from the GPAA gold and treasure show in Fresno
today. It was quite crowded. Maybe a thousand or two people. Anyways, I went

I did read however in one article by a major newspaper that stated the
Lorton meteorite was smoldering. Don't remember where though. Perhaps
a misquote, or misinterpretation?
