Hi listees,
Last week we received over 2 kilos of Benguerir from Morocco.
Very fresh material! Mostly individuals with lots of fusion crust. One 480
gr. piece i kept for myself, the others will be for sale but will not be
on Ebay.
Here's what still have:
231 grams with about 15% crust.
268 grams
Fresh, broken surfaces may look very similar but as soon as
you look at cut and polished slices, they look conspicuously
different:
= the Bensour texture is patchy, cloudy and FeNi sparse
= Benguerir looks more grainy, sprinkled, or speckled
and has more finely disseminated FeNi than Bensour

Benguerir is a breccia (and Bensour is not).
Hi Fred and List,
This is not quite true as Bensour is described as monomict
and *m i c r o* brecciated, but, to me, the Bensour texture
looks finer-grained and more monotonous than the Benguerir
texture with its small, mostly tiny,
bought in
Morocco, and even did not see a picture of another one.
All the best,
Fred
