Hi Robert,
As Mike mentioned, it is extremely fine-grained and not only difficult to
see 'in-person' but almost impossible to photograph too. Judging by some of
the other pics I've seen, I think some of the larger fragments with a larger
flat broken surface area tend to highlight the interior a
Hi Mike,
I have to say, that IMCA is meanwhile - and remember, that this club, isn't
that old yet, a true improvement especially for European sellers offering

It's very good practice to correct an improper ad. It doesn't matter if the
info is intentionally misleading or the result of incompetence. Newbies like me
need the help of well informed members to save us dollars and grief.

Hi Mike and List,
With that much metal and some chodrules, would an H chondrite be a
possibility? For some reason Zag is popping into my brain with regard to
the photos. This will be an interesting one once the scientists study it.
Thanks for the photos.

But if Zag, then not Zag (a) H3-6, ... Zag (b), a winonaite
No, it is carbonaceous. When you touch it, your hands
come away with black powder. I have seen enough
carbonaceous chondrites to recognize one. If it turns
out to be something else, it would be one of the
strangest meteorites on the planet. I think everyone
who has seen a piece in person agrees

Yes, at first glance, it is similar to Saratov, with
one major exception, it is carbonaceous, and it lacks
the large chondrules that Saratov is known for. You
can pick chondrules out of Saratov, this one has very
few, and only tiny ones.
I will post some classification data on this meteorite
