Yes it is - normally if you're able to identify quartz on a suspected stone, you can throw it away, as it's no meteorite. But in a very few, of course as you mentioned in very small amounts, quartz is found - e.g. in some Martian basalts, NWa 856 for instance (if I remember right) has some.
