Hi,
Can I use a CVT transmission oil to protect my meteorites? I have bought too
many bottles when I was changing oil in the car and I'm wondering if I can use
it instead of regular ATF.
Have anybody tried to use this CVT oil for meteorites?

Facebook is quickly turning into a nexus of meteorite activity.
Collectors, dealers, hunters, scientists, and curious onlookers.
It's also ripe for virtual outreach. I get questions almost every day

Hi List:
Is there a way to tell if a meteorite is a Chondrite by looking at the fusion
crust, or looking a just the exterior? I have noticed many times meteorites
pictured and they are fully crusted, but are called chondrites. Is it just
experience of looking at many chondrites or something
Hi Greg,
Yes and no. Maybe. Sort of. You can draw some general conclusions
from the look of the fusion crust - color and texture. Some
achondrites have distinctive fusion crusts, as do some exotic
chondrites. Generally speaking, the fusion crusts of many OC's share
a common look and texture.
Yes! All are welcome to post! An open discussion board, post photos, stories,
experiences, whatever you like meteorite related! I tried to start the page as
an outlet for all of these things, so that we may all get a bit more insight
and input from one another, on perhaps a more personal level.
For those interested, I've updated the USGS plot from Google Earth in the same
album.
