Fred Olson was one of the greats among us in terms of his contribution To all members of the community with his all-encompassing smile and Open heart. While I have not been able to make it to Tucson for a few years, now, when I did I never failed to stop by and say hi to Fred who was a virtual Conduit of light, love and good vibes which he freely bequeathed to all. When I “stepped in it” (more than a couple of times) due to my ego And/or naïveté and/or stupidity, Fred never faltered in his good will. I will never forget that even at my worst, Fred stayed true to being his best. What a guy. What a loss for the meteoritic community. So sad and shocking to learn of Freddie's demise. He and his wife Debbie were just here last weekend fishing and crabbing with us. The world is a sad place without Fred.
