when iron is in contact with aluminium the plate will oxidize brfore the iron
,so I would guess it is an attempt to prevent rusting.

I have found what looks similar to widmanstatten pattern in metal parts
especially rail car parts that have received years of pounding under the
pressures involved with towing cars weighing around 263k lbs with a string of
30 or more cars I imagine there is a lot of force

Why not mix the dust with clear ceramic glaze? You can purchase low temp firing glaze at most hobby shops and fire it in your kitchen on small tiles. It would be stable for hundreds of years and could still be viewed with a microscope. Best regards Steve

I believe it is time to lobby congress for a new law where any meteorite found
becomes the exclusive property of the finder. This law would reduce any
litigation on meteorite finds end encourage hunting on public lands.

photography is always an experiment. It usualy takes many exposures to get an
acceptable pic. Having a white background for a dark object is a photographic
no no! Its like trying to photograph the moon and expect to see the stars
around it. Too much contrast! If you use a grey background and
dang the luck! Mensa asked me to join way back in the day after I got my full
ride with a national merrit scholarship. And West Point offered me a full ride

atmosphere it broke into 3 pieces at first they seperated in a line but

Seems to me the C in IMCA stands for collectors. If it was a dealer
